Pakistan will be given befitting reply for violating ceasefire: Rajnath Singh

Last week 3 BSF personnel were injured during an unprovoked firing

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said that Pakistan would be given a befitting reply each time it violates the ceasefire.

Taking a jibe at the opposition, Singh said during the former Congress-led UPA regime the security personnel were ordered to show white flags to Pakistan in response to ceasefire violations, whereas it was during the BJP's rule that Pakistan was given suitable response.

"I told the (BSF) Director General, don't you know the government now is not of Manmohan Singh but of Narendra Modi. I instantly gave instructions to them that it (showing white flags) has happened 16 times, even now there should be no firing from our end but we would equally retort and our border security forces started retaliating against it," Singh said yesterday while addressing a rally of the BJP workers in Patna where he was accompanied by party chief Amit Shah.
