VHP calls for ban on Kamal Haasan starrer 'Uttama Villain'

The group alleged that a song in the film will hurt sentiments of the Hindu community

Mumbai: Hindu Vishwa Parishad (VHP) members have called for a ban on the Tamil film ‘Uttama Villain’, which stars Kamal Haasan. The group claimed that the release of the movie may affect the religious sentiments of people of the Hindu community.

In a statement to the police, the group alleged that the song ‘Iraniyan Nadagam’ in the film, which is said to be about the conversation between Hiranykashipu and Prahlad, may hurt the sentiments of the Hindu community,.

The Ramesh Aravind directed film is based on an 8th century theatre artist and a modern-day superstar.
