'Hypocrite' AAP practicing VIP culture, alleges Congress

In just 50 days, AAP became a party of VIPs, VVIPs, says Ajay Maken

New Delhi: The Congress party on Sunday accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi of subscribing to the practice of 'VIP culture', alleging that the event to launch an anti-corruption helpline in the city, which had been organised by the latter, had separate entries for VIP and VVIP card holders.

Congress leader Ajay Maken further mocked the AAP, accusing its members of 'behaving like VIPs' mere days after coming to power.

"I was passing near Talkatora stadium where AAP was hosting a program. I saw that the party, which calls itself the common man party and says that it wants to end VIP culture, had made separate entries for VIP and VVIP card holders," Maken said.

"Have the AAP members become VIPs within 50 days of their being elected to power?" he added.

Meanwhile, AAP leader Dilip Pandey hit back at Maken, accusing the Congress of 'holding on' to the VIP culture for decades.

"The people who are accusing us of VIP culture must introspect a little. Then they will find that they are the ones holding the VIP culture together for years and decades now. We have only broken these boundaries after coming to power," Pandey said.

Earlier in the day, the renewed anti-corruption helpline was launched by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia at the Talkatora stadium in Delhi.
