Lokesh our draw, not Jr NTR: Telugu Desam

TD “tired” of T’wood actor’s “hesitation”

The Telugu Desam has had it with its most hesitant member — actor Jr NTR. According to sources, the party is now planning to officially “fire” the star from his “duties”.

“We are done with all the unanswered phone calls, the missed meetings and obvious disinterest in party affairs. So this is it.

The TD is prepared to cut off all contacts,” a senior member of the party told DC.

Many feel the party’s decision was in fact, inevitable. The Tollywood actor has in the past refused to campaign and the most recent instance was his hesitation to renew his membership with the party last year — a decision he finally made under pressure from fans who were threatening a boycott of his movie Temper.

“Inside the TD, we have a name for him... ‘Doubtful Star’. Besides, I don’t know why we should be chasing movie stars when we have our own Lokesh who is doing a wonderful job within the party. Whether it is meeting corporates, farmers or party workers Lokesh does it all and is a great representative for the party,” added the senior member.

It has also been revealed that during elections last year, there were hundreds of phone calls made to Jr NTR asking him to campaign for the party in certain earmarked areas.

“But all those plans didn’t work out. He made one excuse after the other and in the end, nothing worked out. We even gave him an iPad with a 3G link so that he could receive emails.” And since top boss CBN runs his party like any other corporate, there seems to be no space for an employee “constantly on leave”.

“Our CEO too is very disappointed. He was expecting Jr NTR to make healthy contributions to the cause and become THE face on our hoardings. Anyway, he has called a big meeting on April 1 to permanently fix the problem — it could be the pink slip.” And we all know what April 1 means.
