The bars will use cricket flour or crickets ground into a fine powder
Foodies take note, there's a new delicacy that you can try out — protein bar. Launched by a kickstarter campaign, the bar uses cricket flour or cricket ground into a fine powder in addition to nuts, dates, cocoa, seeds and other ingredients for flavouring.
It is said that crickets are a great source of protein and amino acids and contain nine times the magnesium of beef. The creator has launched the campaign and if the they manage to collect enough funds it could become the first cricket protein bar sold in the UK. According to the campaign page "CROBAR is a revolutionary protein bar, containing cricket flour & other natural ingredients. Be part of the next food trend. Insects!"
Once made, perhaps the energy bar might feed your frog!
