Telugu Desam MLAs to go to Delhi

Suspended Telangana TD MLAs met Congress Floor leader K. Jana Reddy to seek support

Hyderabad: With no response from the TRS government and the Governor, suspended Telangana TD MLAs met Congress Floor leader K. Jana Reddy to seek his support in raising their issue in the Assembly and also brief him about their visit to Delhi.

TD Floor leader E. Dayakar Rao, A. Revanth Reddy and others met Jana Reddy and sought his support in getting their suspension revoked. They expressed indignation at their suspension for the entire Assembly session and also the failure of other Opposition parties to back them.

The TD MLAs pointed out that other Opposition parties will face similar action one day and there was a need for the Opposition to be united in taking on the TRS government’s dictatorial attitude. Mr Dayakar Rao and other party MLAs also briefed Jana Reddy about their visit to New Delhi on Tuesday.

“Our suspension violates constitutional provisions. We said we will tender an apology, but we were deliberately kept away from the Assembly. We have decided to complain to the President, the Centre and the CEC,” Mr Dayakar Rao said.

Mr Revanth Reddy said their voice was stifled when they demanded action against turncoats. “Why is the government silent on those defecting from other parties? Is it not a violation of the Constitution? Though we took it to the notice of the Speaker and Council chairman, no action has been taken so far,” he said.

TRS sources said that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has no plans to lift the suspension of the TD MLAs due to their attack on the government and personal allegations against the CM.
