KCR keeps his promise, pays visit to Mamatanagar

The colony was in a bad shape when CM made a surprise visit three weeks ago
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao kept his promise and visited Mamatanagar in Nagole on Sunday to inspect whether there was any improvement in the colony after his previous visit on February 22. The colony was in a bad shape when Mr Rao made a surprise visit three weeks ago. He had promised to return to the colony the subsequent Sunday but could not make it. He visited the colony on Sunday.
“The colony now looks a better place. There is no garbage, the roads are good with no potholes. It was possible because of the collective effort of the residents, GHMC officials and staff. This proves that with the cooperation of the people we can turn Hyderabad into a clean, green and global city,” Mr Rao said during his interaction with the residents.
He praised the colony association and residents for making it a safe and smart colony by installing CCTV cameras.
Taking a potshot at previous governments, Mr Rao said, “They made Hyderabad look like sherwaani from outside and pareshaani from inside. They talked about Hitec City but neglected basic amenities.”
Mr Rao said the government was planning to divide the city into 330 categories. Each category would be handed to public representatives starting from himself and including ministers, legislators and corporators to maintain. The Governor would also be roped in. He urged residents to ensure cleanliness in their surroundings and promised to supply saplings free of cost. Residents from the surrounding colonies also thronged Mamatanagar holding placards requesting the Chief Minister to visit their colonies.
A herd of buffaloes blocked the convoy of the CM on Nagole main road, when he was returning from his visit. Police struggled for 10 minutes before they could clear the road.
