Hyderabad gets funds for water, roads

‘Water from the Krishna Phase-III project will reach the city this summer’

Hyderabad: The Water Board was allotted Rs 1,000 crore in the Telangana state Budget — to complete the Krishna Phase-III and the Godavari Phase-I to overcome drinking water problem under the GHMC limits.

“These allocations have been made in order to make Hyderabad a world-class metropolis and a global city. Liberal assistance is being given to the Water Board to complete Krishna Phase-III and Godavari Phase-I. Water from the Krishna Phase-III project will reach the city this summer,” finance minister Etela Rajender said.

Apart from cleaning the Hussainsagar lake, the government has earmarked Rs 1,600 crore for planned strategic road and skyline development. “About 1,500 motorcycles have been provided to Cyberabad police to respond within 10 minutes of receiving a complaint or call. We have sanctioned Rs 271 crore to buy 4,433 vehicles with modern technology for the Hyderabad and Cyberabad police,” he added.

The minister also said that the Metro Rail project would be completed by July 2017 as per schedule.
