BJP raps AAP over simmering internal feud

Shazia Ilmi pinned the blame for the AAP's internal conflicts on Delhi CM Kejriwal

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday hit out at the Aam Aadmi Party, saying all that was being seen about the latter was charges, counter charges and statements, and questioned what happened to the issues of transparency and internal democracy it professed.

"Astounding situation, all we are seeing about AAP is, charges, counter charges, letters and statements. What happened to fundamental issues of transparency and internal democracy, they themselves professed?" said BJP spokesperson Nalin Kohli.

Meanwhile, BJP leader Shazia Ilmi pinned the blame for the AAP's internal conflicts on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, saying everything was happening at his behest. "The truth is whoever will raise questions on transparency, funds, procedure of selection of candidates, will be shown the way out. Arvind proposes, Manish Sisodia and gang disposes. Everyone is doing exactly what Arvind Kejriwal wants, all this is happening at the behest of Arvind Kejriwal," she told ANI.

The Aam Aadmi Party on Tuesday stated that three of its senior leaders, Shanti Bhushan,Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav were working to ensure the party's defeat in the recently held assembly elections in Delhi, and therefore, this was justification enough to expel them from the Political Affairs Committee (PAC).

In its statement, the party said, "During Delhi elections, three senior AAP leaders were working towards our defeat-Yogendra Yadav, Shanti Bhushan and Prashant Bhushan. Prashant Bhushan used to call up AAP leaders of other states and tried to convince them to not campaign in Delhi." The statement further said, "Prashant Bhushan told AAP leaders: 'I won't campaign, you shouldn't either. Arvind needs to be taught a lesson.'"

"Prashant Bhushan tried to stop people from donating money to the AAP, and threatened to hold a press conference against the party," it added. AAP leader Sanjay Singh said the party came out with the statement to dispel the misconception of 'one sided action' against the ousted duo, although Bhushan stated that the whole truth will soon come in front of the nation.
