Should AP capital be built on tears of farmers? asks Pawan Kalyan

A group of farmers had approached Kalyan, demanding that he react to forced land pooling

Guntur: Actor-politician Pawan Kalyan on Thursday urged the AP government to exclude Undavalli village from the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS). “Should a capital be built on the tears of farmers?” he asked.

He said he would talk to ministers P. Narayana and P. Pulla Rao who were involved in the land pooling process and then decide on the future course of the action. Pawan Kalyan toured Undavalli, Yerrabalem, Bethapudi and Tullur in the capital area on Thursday.

In February, a group of farmers from Bethapudi had approached the actor, carrying his party flags, demanding that he react to the forced land pooling. Pawan Kalyan, after meeting with AP CM N. Chandrababu Naidu, said that he would tour the capital region on March 3, but later postponed it to March 5.

Addressing locals on Thursday Pawan Kalyan said that the Telugu Desam government should listen to the farmers 10 times if need be. He also asked farmers not to surrender their lands till he told them to do so.

He said that he had supported the Telugu Desam and the BJP in the last polls but would question the parties on the injustice done to the capital area.
