Jagan Mohan Reddy promises to return farmland

Jagan says Telugu Desam govt will collapse and YSRC will come to power

Guntur: YSRC president and Opposition leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday assured anti-Land Pooling Scheme for landowners and farmers in the capital region, including Undavalli and Penumaka, that he would return their farmlands after coming to power.

During his visit to the capital region, Mr Reddy told farmers that the YSRC would fight for the protection of their fertile lands in the present session of the state Assembly and predicted that the Telugu Desam government would collapse due to its anti-public policies. He said that elections would follow and the YSRC will come to power and all land forcibly acquired from anti-LPS farmers will be returned.

He alleged that there was 18,000 acres of land in Vinukonda and several thousand acres in other areas of Guntur district, but Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was adamant to destroy fertile lands.

“No agriculture loan waiver, no gold loan waiver and no DWCRA loan waiver,” Mr Reddy said and added, “Sadly, land is also gone, forcing farmers on the roads.”

Mentioning that agricultural workers got Rs 800 per day per couple for working in farms, he questioned how these people would raise their families with such wages.

He said that farmers had alleged that TD leaders and officials were creating fear and forced them to offer their land to the CRDA without their full consent.

He added that four crops and several other intercrops were cultivated on the Jareebu (wetland) lands, which was giving farmers a chance to provide higher education for their children whose future would now become bleak.

Mr Reddy said that teams of YSRC legislators had visited the capital region four times for the protection of fertile lands belonging to small and medium farmers.

He added that Mr Naidu and TD cadres were behaving like street rowdies to collect fertile lands to do realty business with them.

Mr Reddy predicted that TD candidates, including Mr Naidu, would lose their deposits if elections were held in the present situation.

The Opposition leader claimed that the CM could not snatch lands without the consent of the landowners and farmers and promised to protect lands of anti LPS farmers.

Jagan’s second tweet also targets CM

Jagan Mohan Reddy in second tweet on Tuesday on social media website Twitter targeted Naidu again. Mr Jagan, in the tweet, alleged that Mr Naidu has prepared a blueprint to fulfil his real estate dreams. “I can see the burial of one lakh dreams in this blueprint”, the tweet said.
