MWC 2015: Alcatel OneTouch launches Idol 3 reversible smartphone

The smartphones comes in two variants — a 5.5-inch and a 4.7-inch display phone

At the Mobile World Congress 2015, Alcatel OneTouch unveiled the Idol 3 smartphones. The Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 is touted as the reversible smartphone, which lets you answer calls even with the phone help upside down. Essentially, the Idol 3 sports microphone and speaker on both the ends of the phone, which lets you answer calls even when holding it ‘wrong-side up’.

The Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 comes in two variants, a 5.5-inch and a 4.7-inch display phone, priced at Euro 250 (Rs 17,300 approx) and Euro 200 (Rs 14,000 approx) respectively. Both the smartphones run on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system.

The 5.5-inch Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm MSM8936 processor, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal, which is expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card. The smartphone features a 13MP primary camera and an 8MP front facing camera. Additionally, the smartphone is fuelled with a 2910mAh battery.

The 4.7-inch variant of Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 sports the similar specs to the larger variant, expect for the smaller 2000mAh battery, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, the 5MP front camera.
