Success and failure part of life: Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Kapoor says that he does not get bogged down by failure

Mumbai: At a press conference in Mumbai, actor Ranbir Kapoor spoke about how success and failure are daunting aspects for him. “Failure is indeed fearful. I always like to detach myself from success as well as failure. Thus I do not get bogged down by failures — they are a part of life. But I do fear failure in relationships with my parents, friends and at the workplace,” he said.

We wonder if he would come up with a book about his experiences. “I would like to state very humbly that I have not yet achieved so much in life that I could write a book.

“But if I do write a book ever, it would be about the time I spent with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali while I was assisting him for the film Black. It was indeed an impactful, short phase of learning for me,” he said.

Ranbir emphasises that he would like to make a name for himself and make his parents proud. “My family has a vast filmi history and as an actor I would like to achieve a little more. I would love to stand out for my work.”

About turning a producer, he said, “Anurag Basu and I decided to produce Barfi, there was no planning. And now we are producing Jagga Jasoos.”

Ranbir’s single status, and his affairs, have always been subject of much debate. “I am enjoying this phase of my life. Even though I am 32, I don’t think I need to get married right away… Marriage needs to come naturally and I do not feel that time is running out. Also, if my partner would ask me to get married, I would do so at the right time. It would be the same about having kids; it has to be when both of us think that the time is right.”
