WC 2015: Aaron Finch claims opening mate David Warner has always been 'cocky'

Australian opener revealed their bond thickened as they both love a drink and a big bat

Sydney: Australian opener Aaron Finch has claimed that his opening partner David Warner has always had that cockiness about him and has backed it up over the years.

Finch's reaction, when he confronted Warner for the first time on a cricket field, was who the hell is this bloke. Not much has changed since; only the two now stand as best mates. He is fond of his friend Warner because the man who he desperately hopes to one day partner in the Test team hasn't changed a bit since they were 15 year-olds at an interstate carnival, News.com.au reported.

Finch recalled of their first meeting that Warner came out at number eight, with no helmet and started mouthing off at the Victorians, revealing that the opener played reverse sweeps first two balls and got NSW over the line.

Finch claimed that their bond thickened as they both love a drink and a big bat. He said that they have similar attacking styles and insisted that when one has a few days off, one enjoys a beer at the bar, claiming that that is how one bonds over 14 years.

The opener claimed that it's very exciting having seen Warner over the last two years start to dominate Test cricket and added that this World Cup he has got the best seat in the house.
