Mumbai: Eddie Redmayne may have just won his first Oscar award, but we already see the next one coming.
A picture of the actor form his upcoming film The Danish Girl, was released online. After voicing a character in Thomas the Tank Engine, Eddie is all set to play the character of transgender pioneer Lili Elbe, who became one of the world’s first known recipients of the surgery.
The ‘Theory Of Everything’ star can be seen wearing a dress and even donning a curly haired wig, bright lipstick and fake breasts in the new picture.
Adapted from David Ebershoff’s novel and directed by Tom Hooper tells the story of Einar Mogens Wegener who was born in Denmark and underwent a series of experimental operations in Berlin during the 1930’s. A fatal uterus transplant resulted in her death in 1931.
Actress Alicia Vikander joins Eddie as Wegener’s wife. Academy award winning actresses, Nicole Kidman (Elbe) and Gwyneth Paltrow were in talks of starring in the film.
