Hyderabad: A youngster was allegedly attacked by his friends at Chandrayangutta after a heated argument over an abusive comment on social networking site Facebook. He was stabbed with a knife on the head and is now hospitalised in a serious condition. The victim, identified as Irfan, 17, is an Intermediate second year student and a resident of Khazipura in Shalibanda.
Chandrayangutta police said that recently Irfan’s friend Obaiduddin made an abusive comment against him on Facebook. Irfan who came to know about this through his friend Azam asked Obaiduddin the reason for it. They had an argument and based on Azam’s suggestion the two decided to meet at G.M. Colony in Falaknuma on Tuesday night to sort out the issue.
While Irfan was accompanied by his brother Mukeed, Obaiduddin came with his friends Abdul Sheik Bawazeer and Khalid. “They had a discussion and it became a heated argument. Suddenly Bawazeer took out a knife and stabbed Irfan on the head. Mukeed who came to Irfan’s rescue sustained a minor injury,” said SI K. Laxmaiah.
Irfan who sustained a serious injury was shifted to the Osmania General Hospital. His condition is stable. Based on a complaint, cops booked an attempt to murder case. The attackers were arrested and remanded.
