Two cab drivers arrested for misbehaving with woman

The victim was returning home from office when the cab drivers misbehaved
Bengaluru: A short walk from the corner of the road to her house turned horrific for a 27-year-old private company employee when two cab drivers allegedly misbehaved with her at HSR Layout recently. The victim was returning home from office when the cab drivers, Santhosh (24), who hails from Bihar, and Nadeesh, who is from Mandya, allegedly misbehaved with her.
“I was walking down the lane in front of my house. A cab was parked and two people were sitting inside, one of them at the wheel. As I walked past, they whistled at me and passed some lewd comments. I ignored them and walked ahead. But I got scared when I heard them saying, ‘Isko Utha Lete Hain’ (we will kidnap her). I immediately called for help and asked my husband to come to the spot,” she said.
The victim and her husband immediately filed a complaint at the HSR Layout police station. The story took a twist the next day, when the victim spotted the cab drivers. She panicked and reported the incident to City Police Commissioner M.N. Reddi through Twitter. Mr Reddi directed DCP (South-East Division) Rohini Katoch Sepat to look into the matter.
Ms Sepat said, “The two cab drivers were arrested and were let out on bail. We summoned them again to the station and took preventive measures.”
It was not the first time
citizens have approached the city police on the micro-blogging site to air their concerns. Earlier, Mr Abhay Kumar (32), an employee with a private bank, had alerted Mr Reddi through the Twitter handle after the four police stations refused to lodge a complaint of a credit card fraud.
