Top 10 moments from the 87th Academy Awards

Today’s Academy Awards, may be one of Hollywood’s biggest and ‘boringest’ night, but it did have a hand full of moments worth taking note of.
1.The rise and fall of Neil Patrick Harris: The star delivered a few jokes here and there, and even took a dig at the Academy for its all white nominee list, but let’s face it, he had to strip down to his underwear to get the audience laughing. This show was nowhere close to Ellen’s performance last year, but for a first timer on stage, we think he did ‘Okay’.
2.John Legend and Common’s glorious performance: Bring out the tissue roll, this heart warming performance had everyone in the hall sobbing at the soulful number that took home the Oscar for the Best Original Song.
3.Do-re-mi- Ga: Fans across the globe couldn’t quite believe their ears and eyes when Lady Gaga took the stage to pay tribute to the hit musical ‘Sound of Music’ that released 50 years ago. The singer’s powerful vocals send tremors online as Twitter switched from making memes to singing her praises.
4.Patricia Arquette's empowering speech: If there was something that hasn’t been said, Patricia said it all. The ‘Boyhood’ actress got a standing ovation from the audience for her speech empowering women in Hollywood. "We have fought for everybody else's equal rights. It's our time to have wage equality once and for all and women's right for everyone in America," she said.
5.Travolting! : If you thought John Travolta’s Idina Menzel (Adele Dazeem) slip up last year was embarrassing, his awkward face touching took the cake this year.
6.Stay weird, stay different: In one of the most moving speeches 'The Imitation Game; screenwriter Graham Moore urged anyone like him who feels different or Alan Turing, the main character of his film,to embrace their uniqueness instead of harming themselves.
7.Eddie’s emotional roller coaster ride: Now that flood emotions are impossible to fake, even if you picked up the Oscar for the best actor.
8.The Lego Oscar became the most coveted trophy of the night: How cute was Oprah when she received a Lego trophy for being herself? Priceless!
9.Sean Penn gets racist: The Oscar winning actor had trouble dealing with the fact that a Mexican filmmaker Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu , bagged four Academy Awards. While announcing the winner for ‘Best Picture’ category, the star jokingly blurted out the line, “ Who gave this son-of-a-b***h his green card?”
10.Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s reply: The Mexican director, producer, screenwriter and composer dedicated his best picture win for “Birdman” to his fellow Mexicans, and called on his countrymen to “find and build a government that we deserve.”
Regarding Mexicans living in the United States, he was more forceful: “I just pray they can be treated with the same dignity and respect of the ones that came before and built this incredible, immigrant nation.''
