No decision yet on media bar: CM K Chandrasekhar Rao

Telangana government hadn’t taken any decision to bar the media
Hyderabad:Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said on Friday that the Telangana government hadn’t taken any decision to bar the media in the Secretariat yet.
“No decision has been taken, only discussions took place. Tomorrow there is a meeting with journalist friends in the Telangana Press Academy. We will discuss the issue and find if there is a better way to regulate entry of journalists to the Secretariat instead of the present anarchy,” he said.
Mr Rao also disclosed that TRS would announce its two MLC candidates on Saturday evening. He added that the power crisis in Telangana would ease by 2018 when the state would have 23,000 MW. The state would get 1,000 MW of power from neighbouring Chhattisgarh soon, he added.
Mr Rao took stock of the ongoing TRS membership drive with members of the TRS Steering Committee and senior party leaders at Telangana Bhavan.
Stating that the unprecedented response to the membership drive had increased the responsibility of the party and government, he asserted that the clamour for TRS membership indicated the public’s confidence and approval of government programmes and policies.
“The Government will be very careful and will continue pro-poor approach. All government schemes will be implemented. We will keep corruption at bay.
We will ensure a tap for every house and won’t seek votes if we don’t provide the same. We will ensure uninterrupted power by 2018. We have also come out with a new industrial policy and we will constitute a new PCB soon,” he remarked.
He added, “As long as we have the people’s blessings, we will go forward. We initially set a membership target of 30 lakh. But it has now crossed 50 lakh.
I compliment the people for their faith in TRS and the steering committee members, MPs, MLAs, MLCs and ministers for the membership drive.” The CM disclosed that the party had earned Rs 5 crore through membership fees so far and it would go up to Rs 8-8.5 crore.
When asked about the reports of TRS joining the NDA government, Mr Rao said no such talks took place.“Unlike other parties, we will provide 100 per cent individual insurance to every member. Party has already Rs 4 crore in fixed deposits,” he added, announcing the extension of enrolment for the membership drive to February 28.
Election of state president will be held at the extended general body meeting of the party at Lal Bahadur Stadium on April 24, followed by a public meeting at Parade Grounds on April 27.
