Many issues to be thrashed out before forming government in Jammu and Kashmir: BJP

PDP and BJP are in talks to find a common ground in forming a govt

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday said there are a number of issues that needs to be thrashed out before Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and People's Democratic Party (PDP) agree to form a coalition government in Jammu and Kashmir.

"The PDP and BJP have been engaged in discussions for sometime towards finding a common ground in forming a government in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. There are a number of issues which have to be thrashed out before both the parties agree to form a coalition government and all the issue are discussed, deliberated and ironed out before a concrete move is made towards government formation," BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao told ANI here.

"Hopefully, a conclusion of these discussions will happen very soon," he added.

A fractured verdict in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections last year left no party with a clear majority. The highest number of seats was won by the PDP, but the party with 28 seats fell well short of the 44 seats required to form the government.
