Kozhikode: About 347 students of IIM Kozhikode participated in the final placements which was completed in a record 10 days, with the highest domestic salary on offer touching Rs 29.5 lakh per annum. Final placements were completed within a record period of 10 days. This year as many as 347 students participated in the placement process with 359 offers being made to them, an IIM-K press release said.
Ninety- seven recruiters, 34 of them first timers, took part in the Final Placements with the average annual compensation figure for this year being Rs 14.92 lakh per annum. The highest domestic salary was Rs 29.5 lakh per annum. The number of Pre-Placement offers saw a marked rise of 38 per cent over figures of last year.
Major recruiters this season were Goldman Sachs, IBM Consulting, KPMG, Samsung, Snapdeal and Vodafone, who made a total of 73 offers. New recruiters included Axis Bank, Bluestone, Britannia, Cinepolis, Future Group, HP, Heinz, Hexaware, Idea, Infosys Management Consulting, InMobi, Lenovo, Snapdeal, Tata Communications, The Royal Bank of Scotland, and ZS Associates, among others.
Prof Kulbhushan Balooni, Director, IIM Kozhikode, said this year's placements saw a speedy closure with the entire batch getting placed in a record 10 days. "This shows that IIM Kozhikode is well equipped to sustain the positive surge in the industry in recent times, that we hope to continue doing so and forge stronger relationships with our recruiters in the future', he said.
Prof A F Mathew, Chairperson, Placements, IIMK said the recruitment season this year has reinforced the positive sentiment of the industry towards IIM Kozhikode's talent pool. The placements across verticals have seen a consistent performance, reflecting the students' capabilities towards the needs of the businesses, he said.
