Fog in states will last for 10 more days

A deviation of 3ºC from the normal night temperature

Hyderabad: Low night temperatures and early morning fog will last for at least 10 more days across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, said Met department officials.

K. Seetharam, senior scientist, Met department, Hyderabad said, “Owing to lower than normal temperatures at night across the state since a fortnight, the water vapour in the air is condensing and fog is being seen in the early hours.” According to the Met department, the minimum temperatures recorded in Telangana were: Hanam-konda 17.5ºC, Nizamabad 18.6º, Hyderabad 19.2º and Ramagundam 19.5º.

The minimum temperatures in AP were distinctly higher: Tirupati 18ºC, Anantapur 16.6º, Kurnool 18.4º, Kalingapatnam 16.6º, Vizag 19.6º, Kakinada 19.6º, Vijayawada 19.4º, Machilipatnam 20º, Ongole 21.1º and Nellore 21.5ºC.

A deviation of 3ºC from the normal night temperature was recorded at Kalingapatnam. In the remaining districts, the deviation from the mean minimum temperature is between 1 and 3º Celsius, Met officials said. “Dat temperatures are normal and the weather has remained mostly warm. This condition will last till the end of the month," said Mr Seetharam.
