Lucknow: An 18-year-old girl was allegedly killed by her brother who objected to her relationship with a neighbour in the Kankarkheda police circle in Meerut district.
The incident took place on Friday night when Bharti, a Class XI student, had an argument with her brother Amit.
In a fit of rage, Amit slit his sister’s throat with a kitchen knife, killing her on the spot. She had reportedly gone out with the boy without informing her family members and her brother lost his temper when she returned.
After killing his sister, Amit went around looking for the boy, Rahul, but found his cousin Mohit and attacked him also. During interrogation, Amit told the police that he had no regrets because his sister had shamed the entire family.
