Bengaluru: An eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped and murdered by unidentified people at an isolated place near Hosakote on Thursday evening.
Police said the victim, a second standard student, was playing near her house after returning from the school. Her parents work at a hollow-brick factory.
The incident took place at Pillagumpa Industrial area around 4.30 pm. It came to light around 7.30 pm after the victim’s parents returned home and found her missing. They went went in search of her and were shocked to find her body. They immediately informed the Sulibele police station.
The police found a CCTV footage from a nearby shop where a man was spotted taking the victim along with him before she was murdered. The police are trying to ascertain the identity of the accused.
