Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 is licking the Lollipop

The 2013 Samsung flagship Galaxy S4 in Russia has already started with Lollipop

Google’s Lollipop is the much awaited Android update by almost everyone using an Android smartphone. Google rolled out the Lollipop update late last year and many smartphone brands are slowly rolling out the Lollipop update for their respective, compatible handsets.

Samsung too is rolling out the Lollipop for the recent flagships and the Galaxy S4, which is a 2013 release, was confirmed to receive the update. GT-I9500, which is the international version, using the Exynos chipset model has been confirmed to be receiving the Lollipop update in Russia at this moment. Other regions are yet to receive the update in phases.

The update, however, is a huge one—a whopping 1GB large, and can be availed via Samsung Kies. The S4 is the second handset after the Samsung Galaxy note 3, which is getting a taste of the Lollipop. Samsung Galaxy S4 users should be checking their smartphones regularly for the new update and make sure you backup your data before updating the smartphone. Sadly, rooted users will lose out on the new Lollipop firmware update, and will have to download the firmware from other sources and install it using ODIN.
