70 per cent Metro works over in Nagole-Mettuguda stretch

Proposed pavements are completed to ensure inauguration by March 21, 2015

Hyderabad: Seventy per cent of the works at the Metro Stations on the Nagole to Mettuguda stretch have been completed but there is a major need to ensure that the works on approach roads near the stations and the proposed pavements are completed to ensure inauguration by March 21, 2015.

With seven stations on the road, the Hyderabad Metro Rail and Larsen and Turbo are expecting school-going children, college students, professionals, senior citizens and also home-makers to use the transit. Given this wide variety of crowd, the HMR along with Metro Rail Commuters Association and Metro Rail Travelers Association have formed station committees which will guide and also help the commuters to use the new facility.

Managing director of Hyderabad Metro Rail said, “The commuters will increase slowly. In the first few months we are expecting a lot of visitors from different parts of the city and also the state. People will want to have an experience of the metro journey. For that reason, the station committees have been formed which will guide the people on how to use the services which are being provided.”
