Employees were unsure of getting the payments due to severe financial crisis

Hyderabad: Here is some good news for Andhra Pradesh government employees as the government has lifted the ban on payments of salaries. The government directed all treasuries to pay salaries to employees and pensions to retired employees.
Until Thursday, the government employees were unsure of getting salaries for the month of January with the financial crisis facing the state government. For the payment of salaries and pensions, government requires Rs 25,000 crore. The government will credit the salaries to the employees’ accounts on Saturday.
The government has directed the treasuries to also pay important bills. Government officials said if the Centre does not release funds, the state government will face financial problems in the next two months. They said the state government can borrow only Rs 2,000 crore in the present financial year.
