Delhi polls: Kiran Bedi to hold 70 rallies in Delhi, cover all seats

BJP plans to apprise voters of the lies spoken by the Aam Aadmi Party

New Delhi: BJP's chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi will hold 70 rallies covering all the constituencies in the national capital in the next 14 days ahead of the Assembly polls here.

A 21-member election committee of the party met on Friday to discuss the party's campaign strategy for the February 7 polls. Senior BJP leader Nirmala Sitharaman chaired the meeting.

"Bedi will hold as many as 70 rallies in all the 70 constituencies. She has been asked to hold around four to five rallies every day so that every constituency is covered," said a senior BJP leader.

He also said that the party is banking heavily on the former IPS officer to raise support among the people given her "clean" image.

"It was also decided that all candidates will tell people about the work done by the central government (led by BJP).

Besides, party leaders will also apprise the voters of the lies of Aam Aadmi Party," the BJP leader added.

The saffron party has also asked its booth in-charges and Panna Pramukh to go door-to-door seeking support, saying that the campaign should be conducted as a kind of "mission" and not as if it was just for an election.

Meanwhile, another senior leader said that the party will release its manifesto for the polls between January 26 and 28.

"The manifesto committee headed by Union Minister Harsh Vardhan is about to complete its work. We may release our election manifesto between January 26 and 28. In it, the party will mainly focus on water and electricity as issues for the upcoming Assembly elections," he added.
