The inauguration of a furniture store in Kerala took its spectators by surprise when they launched a ‘halwa sofa’.
The sofa was literally made out of halwa and has been the talk of social media ever since. The makers of this sofa must have taken the ‘Make In India’ campaign by Prime Minister Narendra Modi may be a bit too seriously.
Halwa refers to many types of dense, sweet confections. Halwa may also be based on numerous other ingredients, including sunflower seeds, various nuts, beans, lentils, and vegetables such as carrots, pumpkins, yams and squashes.
