Danish town residents have vowed to have more sex, here’s why

London: The citizens of a Danish Town, Thisted, have made a deal to have more babies over the next few years with the council to help maintain under-populated schools, nurseries and leisure facilities, it has been reported.

Lars Sloth, director of Thisted council, explained that they had a hearing with the local community and asked them what they could do about institutions closing and so few babies being born, therefore, one of the citizens' organisations suggested this "deal" as an option, the Guardian reported.

Denmark's birth rate was one of the lowest in Europe, with 1.7 children born per family, but in Thisted the rate was lower still, with just 1.6 babies per family.

The town also has trouble hanging on to its 14,000-strong existing population, with many young people leaving for university and few returning after finishing their education.

Sloth hopes that the new measures will help the region flourish over the next few years and for the starters, the threat of shutting schools was over for now.
