Keen to encourage new talent in the film industry, actor and producer Vishnu Manchu has announced a short film contest. In fact, he has decided to make it a yearly affair. The winning director will get a chance to direct a feature film, produced by Vishnu.
“There is huge talent to be unearthed; people who have the ability to approach films in a whole new way,” Vishnu says, adding, “I am just opening a path for those who actually have talent, an opportunity to materialise their dreams.
My vision is to make this platform a huge enabler for gifted, undiscovered filmmakers and fresh talent. It’s also a wonderful way to discover gems for the industry.” The winner of this year’s contest, and of coming years, will be announced on Vishnu’s father and veteran actor Mohan Babu’s birthday, on March 19.
