Government to scale up training to provide job to 1 crore people: Minister

Union Labour ministry planning to scale up training through ITIs, appropriate programs

Hyderabad: The Union Labour ministry was planning to scale up the training through ITIs and appropriate programs to meet its aim of providing jobs to about one crore people.

Union Labour Minister (independent charge) Bandaru Dattatreya said his ministry wanted to enhance its training through ITIs and apprentice programmes to about 10 lakh people from the present 2.80 lakh.

It would like to scale up the training to about one crore people gradually so that they can get employment, he said on Monday, after paying tributes to Swami Vivekananda on his birth anniversary.

The Telangana BJP launched the party's online membership drive on the occasion of Vivekananda jayanthi. Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy, Dattatreya and other party leaders were present on the occasion.

BJP president Amit Shah, who visited Hyderabad last week, had set a target of enrolling 35 lakh people as party members in Telangana.
