Leaked: Ranbir Kapoor-starrer 'Bombay Velvet' editor shoots angry email to Anurag Kashyap

DC brings you the exclusive scoop about this big budget film

Mumbai: Bollywood film editor Prerna Saigal is angry. She wanted something but the makers didn’t adhere to her request possibly to cut cost. She is the Indian editor of Anurag Kashyap’s next film 'Bombay Velvet' starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Karan Johar and Raveena Tandon and is currently in New York. Thanks to Anurag Kashyap’s Martin Scorsese’s connection, Thelma Schoonmaker, is editing the film in New York along with Prerna. In December 2014, Prerna had to call 911 and complain to the cops when a burglar broke into her apartment. Lots of valuable things were stolen from the apartment including Prerna’s iPad but fortunately the hard disk, which had the footage of 'Bombay Velvet' remained safe. Post the incident it is believed that Prerna sent a strong mail to Phantom Films alerting about the incident. DC has an exclusive copy of that mail that she reportedly sent on December 4, 2014.

From the mail, it is learnt that Prerna alerted about the burglar (spelled as bulgar in the mail) to Phantom Films and updated them that the BV (Bombay Velvet) footage is safe.

In the mail, it appears that Prerna was clearly not happy with the accomodation given to her and had already requested for a safe private room and bathroom with wifi.

Prerna goes on to say that 'Phantom wanted to save money' , which probably led to the compromise in security. Prerna's anger clearly comes across through the mail when she says 'The things I have lost and time I have spent unnecessarily isn't fair."

According to the e-mail, she will also be meeting a detective after an official complain registered with the cops in New York. The mail is addressed to Anurag Kashyap, the director of the film, Madhu Mantena, one of the four partners at Phantom Films, Vivek Bajrang Agrawal, Head of Production at Phantom Films and Tanvi Gandhi Line Producer of Phantom Films.

The makers who have been keeping the film under tight wraps back home seem to be making a concession when it comes to the film's editing that is taking place in New York.
