Kareena Kapoor, who has been extremely selective about her work, has been trying to strike a perfect balance between her image of being a glamorous diva and a serious actress.
Apart from giving final touches to her next film Bajrangi Bhaijaan with Salman, Bebo is said to have given her consent to filmmaker Raj Kumar Gupta’s (of No One Killed Jessica fame) upcoming thriller.
Sources close to the actress have revealed that Gupta met Kareena for a detailed narration in December before she took off for a vacation with husband Saif Ali Khan.
Apparently, Gupta’s team has already started working on the pre-production of the film. “Kareena has heard the script and has agreed to be a part of the film.
Be it a Chameli or a Heroine, she has shown everyone her range as an actress,” says a source close to Bebo. The director feels she suits the character perfectly and Kareena too, is showing a special interest in the script as a whole.
Rajkumar Gupta’s portrayal of characters in his films and his vision as a filmmaker has already earned him a lot of respect in the industry.
Even though his last outing Ghanchakkar was not a box office success, it didn’t tarnish his image as a director as the critics had liked what they saw.
This project with Kareena is yet to take off officially. “As of now, we’re waiting to hear her dates from her,” says a source close to Gupta.
