Intelligence Bureau alerts all states; checks intensified till January 26

Hyderabad: Following recent reports of increase in infiltration, the Hyderabad and Cyberabad police departments are on alert. The Intelligence Bureau has declared an alert for all the states.

In view of two suspected terrorists being arrested on Friday in the National Capital Region, along the Noida border, the Telangana state police department had instructed all its officials to be on alert till Republic Day celebrations on January 26.

Frisking and checking have been intensified in the twin cities. The number of check-posts in Hyderabad has been increased from 15 to 35, and from 13 to 21 in Cyberabad.

Vigil has been increased near multi-national companies in the IT corridor, said a senior official. “Our teams have already started frisking at several areas,” said DGP Anurag Sharma.

Officials are also planning to make terror alert announcements through speakers. People have been told to be cautious and report anything suspicious to the police, said the officials.
