Sun TV COO C Praveen Kumar faces new sex abuse charge
Chennai: Another woman employee of Sun Network has approached the city police alleging sexual harassment by the organisation’s COO C. Praveen Kumar, who is in judicial custody on sexual harassment charges, police sources said.
Central Crime Branch officials, who are investigating the case, said that they have not received a written complaint. “We have learnt that there are talks within the organisation about filing a complaint and one of them has approached the city police. As and when the person files a written complaint, we will record her statements and take further action,” a senior police officer said.
Praveen Kumar was arrested on December 26 by the CCB officials on sexual harassment charges based on a complaint from a former programming head of the company who quit five months ago.
“He is accused of holding back '38 lakh to be paid to the victim saying that she would be paid the dues only if she conceded to his wishes,” police said.
