Former CM hints at return to active politics, claims that change may happen in Karnataka any time

Bengaluru: In the midst of rumours on a change of leadership in Karnataka, veteran Congress leader and former External Affairs minister S.M. Krishna predicted that change may happen in Karnataka any time.

Speaking to reporters after a meeting with KPCC president Dr G. Parameshwar on Thursday, Mr Krishna gave enough hints that he will also in the race for CM if the change of leadership happens in 2015.

“I am still in active politics, in the coming days I will more actively get involved in politics. There is no retirement for a soldier in the Army, likewise in politics, there is no retirement for a politician”, Mr. Krishna replied to a question about his return.

“Politics is like flowing water, change is inevitable, there will be changes in Delhi and in the state in the coming days, this change may happen any time in the state”, Mr Krishna said giving hints that the demand for change of leadership will be taken to a logical end.

The former CM wished Dr Parameshwar good luck in 2015. "Parameshwar is my good friend, he did good work in my government, he had also contributed to enhance the image of my government in Karnataka”, Mr Krishna said.

He expressed the hope that Dr Parameshwar’s wish of getting into the Siddaramaiah cabinet will be fulfilled in 2015.

Sources said Dr Parameshwar discussed with his one-time mentor current issues in the party as well as in the government. He reportedly told Mr Krishna that ruling Congress legislators were upset with the functioning of the Siddaramaiah government in the state.
