Jaswant Singh discharged from Army hospital

He sustained severe head injuries after suffering a fall at his home

New Delhi: Former BJP leader Jaswant Singh has been discharged from the Army Research and Referral Hospital in Delhi, four months after being admitted with severe head injuries.

According to reports, Singh was discharged in a minimally conscious state and will receive supportive care at home. He was put on life support in August after sustaining severe head injuries after suffering a fall at his residence.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari had visited the ailing leader in hospital.

Singh had left the BJP earlier this year after the party denied him a ticket to contest from the Barmer constituency in Rajasthan. He preferred to contest the polls as an Independent, but lost to a Congress Party candidate, Colonel (retired) Sonaram Choudhary.
