Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao may meet Army today

GHMC has proposed four alternative roads to solve the problem

Hyderabad: The news of lifting of night restrictions on Thursday came as a breather to over 13 lakh residents living in the Malkajgiri constituency as AOC roads Entrenchment Road, Wellington Road, Gough Road and Ordinance Road are major connectors for them.

“Although a temporary relief, this has given us time and we will take this issue up on a war footing,” said TRS MLA C. Kanaka Reddy, who represents the Mal-kajgiri constituency.

The GHMC has proposed four alternative roads to solve the problem after a detailed survey of the area. The Resident Welfare Association leaders of Malkajgiri had submitted the same to Mr Parrikar in a meeting in New Delhi on Tuesday.

“The state government will start the construction of alternative roads as soon as we get a clearance as the proposed routes fall in the Army land. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has assured that the government will give land to the Army for the same,” Mr Kanaka Reddy added.

“We met Mr Parrikar on Tuesday and he assured that the proposed committee would ensure that the problem was solved. We are extremely thankful to our representatives MP Malla Reddy and MLA Kanaka Reddy for facilitating the meeting,” said Malkajgiri Resident Welfare Association president B.T. Srinivasan.

Reportedly, Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao have already spoken to Andhra Sub-Area Major General C.A. Pithawala on this issue and he will be meeting them on Friday.
