Kerala cops to quiz Maoists in Nitta Gelatin attack

The team will also interrogate the arrested duo to shed light into the attack in Kochi

KOCHI: With two persons, suspected to be Maoists, taken into custody by the Palakkad police, a four-member team of Kochi police left for Palakkad on Monday to interrogate the duo in connection with the Nitta Gelatin case.

The four-member team led by Thrikkakkara Assistant Commissioner Bijo Alexander would collect the visuals of the CCTV installed at the KFC Restaurant, Chandragiri, Palakkad.

They would corroborate those with the unmasked faces of attackers caught in CCTV in connection with the Nita Gelatin incident.

The team will also interrogate the arrested duo to shed light into the attack in Kochi. We’re hopeful of a result,” said Mr K.G. James, Kochi City Police Commissioner, who is in charge of the probe.

On November 10, a nine-member gang with seven of them donning ski masks had vandalized the corporate office of the Nitta Gelatin India Ltd at Panampilly Nagar here and distributed pamphlets in the name of ‘CPI (Maoists).
