CPM Commune sharing NIA post raises eyebrows

The address of NIA in Kochi was also displayed prominently in the page of the CPM Cyber Commune

KOCHI: CPM Cyber Commune, a facebook page of the supporters of CPM, posting an announcement of National Investigation Agency against anti-national elements has raised eyebrows in social medial circles.

The announcement of NIA in Malayalam seeking help in identifying “anti-national” forces gave an impression that CPM supporters endorsed views of the NIA.

The NIA request shared in the facebook has called upon people irrespective of ‘caste, creed or religion’ to inform the agency on any knowledge of “anti-national collective, Maoist thoughts, pamphlets, speeches or distribution of anything similar that would destroy the unity of India”.

The NIA post has also stated that given the importance of the matter it should be shared and disseminated widely. The address of NIA in Kochi was also displayed prominently in the page of the CPM Cyber Commune.

Dileep. P.G handling facebook page of CPM told DC that CPM Cyber Commune is not a page owned by the party. Party members are not in the commune, but, party supporters are in it, he added. On sharing the posting of NIA Dileep said that people behind it may not have realized the seriousness behind it.
