In a move that seems straight out of a Bollywood movie, we hear that Anurag Kashyap will be scouting for talent at hangout spots like coffee shops. Anurag and his team are looking for fresh faces for their upcoming films, and rather in the old, serendipitous tradition of “discovering” stars at shopping malls and coffee shops, the filmmaker too is looking beyond the polished acting hopefuls who show up at his office for auditions. Anurag’s team has already scouted the haunts that young acting aspirants visit in Mumbai and are on the lookout for promising faces.
“Anurag believes there are a lot of talented people out there, who can make inroads in B’wood with the right guidance. While the thought (of reaching out to aspirants through local hangouts) was on his mind, he’s now taken active steps to get his team out there, to meet potential actors. His team will be visiting coffee shops and theaters which aspirants are known to frequent. Anurag is hoping to devote at least an hour every fortnight to meet with these aspirants,” said a source.
