Motorola rolls out Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Moto X (2nd Gen) handsets

Improved material design UI, smart lock and screen pinning option is enabled on Moto X

Here is some good news for Moto X users! Motorola has introduced the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS update for Moto X (2nd Gen) handsets. The company has announced the new software update on its official blog.

In order to install the Android 5.0 Lollipop on your Moto X (2nd Gen) device, you need to select the Settings icon - About phone - System updates. Select the ‘Yes, I’m in’ option and after downloading the software, click on ‘Install now’. This new update will restart your device automatically.

On receiving the Android 5.0 Lollipop OS update, you will see an improved material design UI, ambient display, smart lock and screen pinning option on Moto X (2nd Gen) handsets.

Android 5.0 Lollipop OS update will enable notifications to appear on the lock screen itself. One can double-tap to open any notification or just swipe left or right to clear any unwanted notificaion. Motorola also stated that Moto X (2nd Gen) users can also set the priority and privacy of notifications for each application.

The latest software update will help Moto X (2nd Gen) users to set up multiple user accounts on their smartphone. Android 5.0 Lollipop will allow you to grant text privileges only to the user accounts you choose.

Additionally, the Moto Display will continue to surface relevant notifications to you using the low-power Contextual Computing Processor. Moto X (2nd Gen) users will also receive a notification on how much time is left for discharging or charging the battery of your handset .
