KB Ganesh not called for udf meet has pillai upset

Oommen Chandy had been taking action against UDF allies by counting the number of MLAs

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Congress (B) chairman R. Balakrishna Pillai has said the decision to keep out Pathanapuram MLA K.B. Ganesh Kumar from the UDF’s parliamentary party meeting was undemocratic.

Mr Pillai told reporters after his party’s high-power committee meeting here on Saturday that Chief Minister Oommen Chandy had been taking action against UDF allies by counting the number of MLAs.

He said the party decided that Mr Ganesh Kumar need not meet the Prime Minister seeking a CBI probe into the charge of corruption in the office of the PWD minister.

He clarified that his son had not raised any allegations against PWD Minister V. K. Ebrahimkunju, but would appear before the Lok Ayukta and produce evidence on the allegation against the department.

“If action was taken against Ganesh Kumar for levelling allegations against the minister, then why that action is not being taken against T.N. Prathapan for voicing charges against chief whip P.C. George?” Mr Pillai asked.

He also said that the KC (B) was not reacting to the new liquor policy as it was not part of the government. But he said his party supported the stand taken by the Christian groups.
