Karnataka High Court to hear Jayalalithaa's case daily

Former Tamil Nadu CM was asked to file her appeal before the High Court after 2 months

New Delhi: Former Tamil Nadu chief minister J.Jayalalithaa, who was granted bail on October 17, was asked to file her appeal before the High Court after two months.

As the case came up for hearing on Thursday, a bench headed by Chief Justice H.L. Dattu extended the bail granted to Ms Jayalalithaa till April 18, 2015, and ordered that the hearing in the High Court be conducted on a day-to-day basis.

“Keeping in view the facts of the case, we request the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court to constitute a special bench for hearing of appeal on a day-to-day basis. The hearing should be completed within three months,” the bench said.

While extending the bail, the bench asked Ms Jayalalithaa’s counsel K.T.S. Tulsi to provide a copy of documents of the case to BJP leader Subramanian Swamy.
