Jackky Bhagnani's 'Youngistaan' makes it to Oscars as an independent entry

Mumbai: Jacky Bhagnani starrer ‘Youngistaan’ has made it to Oscars as an independent entry. The film helmed by Syed Ahmad Afzal also features Neha Sharma. The movie which didn’t go down well with the audience surprisingly made it to the Oscars.

The film has been accepted by Academy of Motion Pictures for this year's Oscars in the 'Best Foreign Language Film' category. The official Indian entry is the Marathi film 'Kapus Kondyachi Goshta' and 'Youngistaan' is another contender in the race. The Oscar nominations will be announced on January 15, 2015.

The news of ‘Youngistaan’ making to the prestigious awards garnered a lot of criticism from Twitterites. The film is centered around Abhimanyu Kaul, a young foreign-educated NRI who is forced to take over his country's reigns after his father's sudden death. He paves his way into the political legacy and changes course of events.
