Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao to survey Rachakonda hills

The Telangana government has about 35,000 acres in Rachakonda

Hyderabad: After identifying land for the proposed Pharma City recently, Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will go on another aerial survey over Rachakonda hills to find land for the proposed 2,000-acre Cinema City.

The government has about 35,000 acres in Rachakonda. Since the place is very near to Ramoji Film City as well as the Shamshabad airport. Ministers P. Mahender Reddy and G. Jagadish Reddy and chief secretary Rajiv Sharma will accompany Mr Rao. There will be no bigwigs from the Telugu film industry.

However, there was a proposal to set up a Rachakonda Field Firing Range for the Army in Rachakonda Hills, mooted by the united AP government. Around 5,630 hectares of forest land were leased out to the Army in November 2013. However, work has not yet begun.
