CM K Chandrasekhar Rao seeks more funds for IT investment zone

TS government sought allocation of adequate funds and made a presentation to the Union minister

Hyderabad: A high-level meeting to decide the fate of the proposed Information Technology Investment Region, Hyderabad, was attended by Telangana state Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, IT minister K.T. Rama Rao and Union IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.

The TS government sought allocation of “adequate” funds and made a presentation to the Union minister. The CM has sought an increase in the fund allocation saying that the Rs 165 crore announced for phase-1 of the project is ‘inadequate’. The Union minister, meanwhile, asked the state government to send a detailed proposal for enhanced financial assistance.

While the state government had sought a financial assistance of Rs 4,863 crore for creation of external physical infrastructure for the project, the latter agreed to extend only Rs 3,275 crore, of which Rs 165 crore is for phase-1 of the project.
