Businessman Goutam Jain’s apartment is 80 per cent ‘laminated’ and has optimised spaces

On the sixth floor of the Legend Arora Apartments in Secunderabad, it is difficult to miss businessman Goutam Jain’s apartment, with the flower decorations from the housewarming party that was held recently and the bright lights coming from his home. He resides in the apartment with his wife Kavita and kids Saloni and Tushar.

Motto of their apartment’s design was simple optimum utilisation of space in their 2,300 sft apartment. And the fancy interiors are seen in the custom designed cut-outs with lights on the ceiling and the silver embellished dustbin that the family got from China. The temple in their home has gold carvings. The space utilisation concept is noticed in the formal living room first as the box panels on one of the walls turn out to be book shelves.

Saloni informs us that 80 per cent of their home is laminated. “We also kept in mind that the laminated décor on the walls matches with the designs on the doors,” she says.

The private seating space, according to the original structure, had a balcony too but the family decided to have a spacious hall with all glass windows and layered curtains. An idea was to have all new artefacts. “A Ganesha idol that was a gift and my trophies are the only things we got along with us from our previous home,” she says.
