Decks cleared for JD(U), RJD merger: Vashisth Narayan Singh

The much-talked-about merger of two major regional parties in Bihar would be a reality soon

Patna: The much-talked-about merger of two major regional parties in Bihar would be a reality soon.

Putting all speculations to rest JD(U)’s Bihar state president Vashisth Narayan Singh said that both parties would merge and a new party would be formed.

He didn't give a deadline but said, “The day is not far when a new party will be formed with leaders of both the parties of JD (U) and RJD.”

It was being expected that the announcement of the entire erstwhile ‘Janata Pariwar’ merger will be announced by the Samajwadi Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav but the statement of JD (U) state president considered close to former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has given a new twist in Bihar politics.

The JD (U) and RJD leaders asserted that the merger would give them strength to counter the BJP in the state.
